William "Wig" Lee Floyd Eldridge, Sr.

William Lee Floyd “Wig” Eldridge, Sr., age 67, of Cumberland, Kentucky passed away September 22, 2023, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.  He was born to the union of his late parents, Ira and Rosa Lee Wells Eldridge. 

William had a skill for working on small engines.   He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and weed trimmers.  He liked hunting, fishing, digging ginseng, watching a good match of WWE Wrestling and believed in the Pentecostal faith.  His departing has left much sadness within his family and friends, but his memories will always be there.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ira Jr., Kenneth, Robert Eugene, and Denver Eldridge, sisters, Gracie Eversole, Edna Fouts and Loraine Williams.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of thirty-nine years, Carolyn Sue Banks Eldridge, son, William Eldridge, Jr., daughter, Sherry Lynn Eldridge, two grandsons, Drew Ray Sturgill, Jr., and Aiden Kyle Green, sisters, Christine (Paul) Fields, Shirley (Carlos) Fouts, Thelma (Bob) Poston, Rosetta Parker and Carolyn (Donnie) Hamblen, brothers, Gillis Eldridge, Tim (Vanessa) Eldridge, and Tom (Donna) Eldridge.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Beech Fork Cemetery at Leatherwood, KY with Elder Glenn Cornett officiating.
