Willa Mae Jenkins, age 85, of Lynch, Kentucky, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland, Kentucky. She was born on February 13, 1938, to the union of her late parents, E.B. and Elizabeth Cain Jenkins in Lynch, Kentucky.
She had worked many years as a dental technician for Skaggs Dentistry and as a kindergarten teacher for the Lynch Elementary School. She believed in the Methodist faith and was a devoted member of the Lynch United Methodist Church. Willa had the voice of an angel and enjoyed singing for the Lord, as she had been a respected member of the church choir for years. Willa Mae had a heart of gold. She was kind and soft-spoken and loved a good conversation. She enjoyed any sporting event that was shown on the television involving basketball or football, she was a faithful fan. Willa Mae’s life has impacted many through her teaching and faithful dedication to others. She was a selfless lady whose passing left an unimaginable gap in the lives of her family and friends.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Tom and Ray Jenkins, sister, Charlotte Jenkins Orr, niece, Terri Clark.
She leaves to mourn her passing, sister, Elizabeth Sue (Marvin) Goins, nephews, Anthony Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins, Todd Jenkins, Travis Jenkins, Jim Orr, David Orr, John Orr, niece, Jennifer Orr Hoback, a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 310 West Main Street, Lynch, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Reverend Rod Raleigh officiating.
Burial will be Monday, October 9th, 2023, at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Virginia at 11 a.m.
