He was born on June 3, 1932, into the union of his late parents, King David and Louise Parker Rogers in Manchester, Kentucky. He was a retired coal miner for International Harvester Coal Company.

He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns, listening to Bluegrass music and watching his favorite Western movies and “Andy Griffith Show” on television. Walter was known for his comedic personality, whenever he would end a phone conversation with someone, he would always say, “Toodly Doo," leaving a little humor and placing a smile on their face. He was a kind, loving and generous man that shall never be forgotten.

It was Mr. Roger’s wish to be cremated and no formal service is to be held. He was a man that didn’t like a fuss and just wanted to be remembered for being a good neighbor, friend and a devoted loving man to his entire family.
