Viola Majorie Brown, age 80, formerly of 522 Second Street, Lynch Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday March 8th, 2018, at Sovah Health Hospital, Danville, Virginia.
She was born on February 9, 1938, unto the union of the late Major & Leona Brown. She later moved to New York and worked various jobs among those being a child care worker and environmental services in the court system. She was very involved at Vance Street Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Herbert Dickerson, until her health started failing.
Viola is preceded in death by sisters, Ann Peterson, Rose Brown, Shirley Brown, Johnetta Thompson and brothers, Major Brown Jr., James Brown and Marvin Brown.
She is survived by her son, Tyran (Tyrone) Brown of Lynch, Kentucky, two brothers, Richard Brown of Atlanta Georgia, Larry Brown of Uniondale, New York, six sisters, Charlene Hicks & Geraldine Kirkland of Danville, Virginia, Cynthia Harrington of Greensboro, North Carolina, Mary Akal, Juanita Brown, & Linda Brown of Lynch, Kentucky, grandchildren, Shannah Brown and Tyrone Brown Jr, two great grandchildren Paget Belle and Brennan Williams.
