Teresa Gayle Lucas Trosper, age 67 of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at her residence.
She was born on June 27, 1955, unto the union of the late Manuel and Gladys Lucas in Whitesburg, Kentucky. She believed in the Baptist faith. Teresa was a loving mother, homemaker and had worked years ago at several local restaurants. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking car rides around the area enjoying all the scenic mountain beauty. Teresa was more commonly known for leading the search for her brother, Roland Lucas, who went missing on July 23, 1994. She spent many countless hours, never giving up hope that he would be found. She had a caring heart, always giving to others. She will be missed dearly.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, April Johnson, brothers, Jeff, Randy, Roland Lucas, and sister, Rogena Lucas.
Teresa leaves to cherish her memory, sons, William Russell Trosper of Cumberland, Kentucky, Wayne Johnson, Jr. and Wesley Davidson both of Lynch, Kentucky, sisters, Lonnie Lucas of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Renee Pennington of Cumberland, Kentucky, the father of her son, Chris Trosper, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Brother Glenn Cornett officiating.
Private Burial will follow.
