Stephen Edward Disney, age 42 of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on April 20th, 2025, at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky. Stephen was born in Harlan, Kentucky on October 5, 1982.
He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He later gained employment and became Senior Analyst and Electrical Engineer at Ronan Engineering in Florence, Kentucky. He excelled at Ronan in research and development of high-end projects while initiating and bringing innovation into the business world. He was a brilliant young man with so many ideas, that at the age of 16, he built his own network of computers. He was so passionate about the work he did and loved sharing his creations with the world. He was a kind, caring, witty young man. He was of the Catholic faith and deeply loved his family. This world is a far better place for the imprint Stephen has left behind. He will forever be loved and missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Larry W. Disney, grandparents, Steve and Katherine Jakopovich, Walter E. and Mary Anne Disney.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Patricia Jakopovich Disney of Nicholasville, Kentucky, a sister, Katherine A. (Ian) Williamson and their son, Jacob of Richmond, Kentucky, a host of other relatives, friends and work colleagues from all over the world.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, Kentucky, with Father Verunkal Prakas officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Humane Society in honor of Stephen’s memory.
