Stanley Sturgill

Stanley Sturgill, age 77 of Lynch, Kentucky, entered eternal rest on April 4th, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.
He was born on June 11, 1945 in Benham, Kentucky to the union of his late parents, John and Gola Louise Stone Sturgill. 

He believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Cumberland, Kentucky.
Stanley was a retired Mine Safety and Health Administration Investigator.   He took pride in his work and was always concerned about the environment.  He enjoyed singing, old cars and was always willing to strike up a conversation about coal-mining.  He held a wealth of knowledge and loved to share his experiences with others.  Stanley was most happy spending time with his precious grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He loved his family and was proud of his children.  Stanley will be missed, for he was an asset to our communities heritage, a wonderful friend and neighbor. 

He is preceded in death by his brother, John Edward Sturgill.

Left to cherish his honorable and loving memory is his devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Sharon Ann Hoskins Sturgill, sons, Greg Sturgill of Josephine, Virginia, Cameron Sturgill of Williamstown, Kentucky, daughter, Amy Sturgill of Harlan, Kentucky, brother, Stephen Gregory "Chuck" Sturgill of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Casey Huckleby, Anna Creech, Lillian Sturgill, great grandchildren, Marshall Huckleby, Sadie Huckleby, Lydia "Muff" Creech, a host of other relatives and friends.

It was Mr. Sturgill's wishes that no services be held at this time.
