Sonya Gail (Simmons) Jordan

Sonya Gail Simmons Jordan, age 55 of Cumberland, Kentucky entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital in Harlan, Kentucky.

She was born on February 16, 1967, unto the union of her late parents, Robert Washington and Gloria Simmons.  She had previously worked as a day care worker, among other jobs in her lifetime.  She believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Lynch, KY. 
She enjoyed cooking, dancing, and watching movies on the Lifetime Network.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren more than anything else in the world.  Her beautiful smile and loving personality will remain in our hearts forever.

Left to cherish her memory, sons, Lance Simmons, O’Shay Simmons both of Cumberland, Kentucky, Tyrese Simmons of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brothers, Maurice Long, Fredrick Constant, Thomas Constant, Elmer Constant, sisters, Anita Renee Simmons, Sherease Parrish, Pamela Constant, Nellie Ann Constant, Sheila Washington, two grandchildren, Janiyah Simmons, Alaya Simmons, a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Ronnie Hampton officiating.
