Shirley Faye McKnight

Shirley Faye McKnight, 79 of Cumberland, Kentucky, a child of God and faithful servant, entered her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.   She was born on June 21, 1943, unto the union of the late Lem and Minnie Lewis Smith in Linefork, Kentucky.  She was of the Pentecostal Faith and had worked at various restaurants as a cook, waitress and in housekeeping.

Shirley loved to attend church, read the Bible, and tend to her flower garden until her health declined.  She enjoyed a wonderful conversation with anyone.  Her warm smile filled your heart as she spoke about her life and the love of God.  She was so happy and grateful for every minute she got to spend with her family, especially her pride and joy, Ava, her beautiful great grandchild.  Her departing has left a void, but her memories shall be cherished by all.

She is preceded in death by a son, Hollie McKnight, Jr., daughter, Deborah Lynn McKnight, brother, Bobby Ray Smith, sisters, Marie Lewis, Irene Cook, Mossie Lewis, Gladys Jones, Loriane Cole, and Polly Greer North.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca (Frank) Orick of Cumberland, Kentucky, ex-husband, Hollie McKnight, Sr. of Cumberland, Kentucky, brother, Harold Smith of Nancy, Kentucky, sister, Mary Ison of Totz, Kentucky, granddaughter, Robin (Jeremy) Williams, great granddaughter, Ava Williams all of Cumberland, Kentucky.

Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the D.L. Creech Cemetery in Cumberland, Kentucky with Brother Glenn Cornett officiating.
