Sherease (Simmons) Parrish

Sherease “ReRe” Simmons Parrish, age 52 of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at her residence.  
 

She was born on May 6, 1971, to the union of her late parents, Robert “Mule Train” Washington and Gloria Simmons.  She had worked for Pizza Hut, among other jobs throughout her short life.  

“ReRe” was a unique lady.  She said what she meant and meant what she said.   If she was your friend, then you had a friend for life.    She was always smiling and laughing.  She knew just how to make your day a little brighter.   She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, and spending time with friends.  Her children and grandchildren were her life and she loved every one of them unconditionally.   She will forever be missed.
 

She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Sonya Gail Jordan and Christer Denise Simmons.

She leaves to mourn her passing, husband, Raphael Parrish, sons, Devin (Myesha) Simmons, Robert Lewis, Johnny Paul Lewis, Jr., Jerry Lewis, Jeffrey Lewis, brother, Maurice Long, sister, Anita Jefferson, grandchildren, Cameron Lewis, De’Arra Simmons, Devon Simmons, Jr., Tejha Simmons, Katelin Lewis, Peyton Lewis, Serenity Lewis, Layla Lewis, Ion Lewis, Adalynn Lewis and Cori Lewis, a host of other relatives and friends.
 

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 12th, at 1 p.m. at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help cover the final expense.

The Family would like to thank Jeff & Linda Simms, Heritage Ministries, Glenn Griffith, Jeremy Walker, Reba Johnson, Lisa Posey, Princess Holland, The Greater Mt. Sinai Bapt. Church and all the people who donated at the roadblock.  The donations and the food are a blessing to us. Our Mother would be so honored.  Thanks again to those that are still donating.  We appreciate you so much.
