Sara Johnson, age 59, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Sara had been a resident of the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland, KY.
Sara was a retired Security Officer for Security Unlimited in Las Vegas, Nevada. She believed in the Baptist faith and loved the television show, “The Golden Girls.” Sara was a joyful person with a big heart, after she became a resident, she thought of the staff as her family. She spoke how wonderful all the nurses, cna’s, and administrative staff were to her, always looking for ways to make her stay even better. Sara had a smile that would light up the dark and genuinely cared about the people in her life. She may have left this world to early but, her memories will be carried on forever.
Sara is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Vernon and Betty Lou Albee Johnson, brother, Robert Johnson, stepson, Joey Risner and special friend, Vera Riddle.
She leaves to mourn her passing, stepdaughter, Tina L. (Michael, Jr.) Wynn of Evarts, KY, stepsons, Andrew (Jessica) Risner of Cranks, KY, Quentin (Tonya) Risner of Evarts, KY, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 29, 2021, beginning at 11 a.m. at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Funeral Services following at 1 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Cornett officiating.
