Sandra "Sandy" L. Dunaway

Sandra L. Dunaway of Cumberland, Kentucky, entered eternal peace on Friday, September 15, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

“Sandy," as most affectionately called her, was the heart of her family.  She was born on December 21, 1942, to the union of the late James Arnold and Ruth Dodson Collier in Eolia, Kentucky.  She was known for her straightforward attitude and told it like it was demeanor.   She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.   She was a retired manager for the Tri-State Rug Company in Cumberland, Kentucky.   She enjoyed crafts, collectible antiquities, reading true crime novels and most of all, being a dedicated grandmother.  She also believed in the Baptist faith.   Sandy cultivated a lot of friendships throughout the years, touched many lives and will forever be missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Dunaway, granddaughter, Zoey Noelle Caudill, and brother, James Eugene Collier.
 

She leaves to honor her memory, son, Mike Dunaway of Cumberland, Kentucky, daughter, Lisa (Randy) Caudill of Lynch, Kentucky, brothers, Bob Collier of Cumberland, Kentucky, Randall (Jeannia) Collier of Lynch, Kentucky, sister, Shirley McLain of Wabash, Indiana, life-long friend, Bill Coke of Cumberland, Kentucky, granddaughter, Regan Caudill and fiancé Chris Lewis, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, September 18, 2023, at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Funeral services beginning at 5 p.m. with Rev. Rod Raleigh officiating.

The burial will follow in the Creech Cemetery in Cumberland, Kentucky.

Pallbearers are Ryan Hall, Bradley Wilson, Jody Gluck, Jim Banks, Father Steve Roberts, Chris Lewis, and Todd Blevins.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Coke and Randall Collier.
