RUTH EDNA SNOW, (89) Lynch, KY, passed away on Friday, August 21st at the home of her granddaughter in Knoxville, TN.
Ruth was born in Lynch, KY to the late Robert Lee and Gertrude Herrin Quarles.
She was a homemaker but often recognized as the town ‘Taxi”. She was a member of Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Lynch, KY.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otha O. Snow; her daughter Barbara Lee Snow; her son Michael D’Angelo Snow ;
her grandson Christopher Snow; and her siblings; Katie Baskin Carnes, Willie Joe, Robert Lee, Preston and George Ralph Quarles.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory a devoted granddaughter, Nickola (Valentino) Jefferson, Knoxville, TN;
granddaughter, Yvonne (Allen) Spicer, Detroit, Michigan; and grandson, Paul (Lisca) Gaffney, Cleveland, TN, thirteen great-grandchildren;
Nickie (Joshua Gregory, Juwaan, Jahlil and Jasmine) Jefferson; Yvonne (William Cook, Tiffany Cook, Allen, Aaron, and Daniel) Spicer;
Paul ( Elyssia and Evan) Gaffney. Christopher ( Simiracle Bryant and Christopher Whitt) Snow,
four nieces and one nephew that she loved as her own: Cheryl (Ronald) Brack of Lexington, KY, Sanford (Anncella) Baskin of Benham, KY,
Ruthie (Ray) Wilson of Benham, KY, Edna (James) Sullivan of Atlanta, GA and Andrea (George, Sr) of Benham, KY,
one great-nephew that also served as her ‘Pastor’, Ronnie (Deb) Hampton of Lynch, KY and a host of other relatives and special friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 409 First Street, Lynch, KY, 40855. Receiving of friends will be from from 11- 12 noon, services immediately following with Reverend Ronnie Hampton officiating and concluding services at 565 Second Street, Lynch, KY. 40855.
Anyone planning to attend the visitation or funeral, we ask that each one practice social distancing and wear masks per Governor and CDC recommendations.
