Rose Mary Walker Hurt, 58, of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed from this world leaving behind a light that touched all who knew her. Born on May 18, 1967, to the late Morgan and Ruth Creech Walker, Rose Mary was a devoted homemaker who embraced life with joy and gratitude.
Though her health declined in her later years due to respiratory illness, Rose Mary never surrendered her spirit. She found pleasure in the simple things that brought her comfort by spending the hours playing games on her phone and settling in to watch her beloved television series, Little House on the Prairie. Her resilience in the face of hardship was a quiet testament to the strength that defined her.
Rose Mary had a gift for brightening the room. Her quick wit and warm, loving personality had a way of lifting the hearts of everyone around her. She carried a perfect smile that matched the warmth within her, and those who knew her were richer for it.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Elmer David Hurt; and several brothers and sisters.
Left to mourn her passing are her son, David Shane Hurt, of Cumberland, Kentucky; her daughter, Brandy Kaye Hurt, of Pineville, Kentucky; her brother, Paul Kelly, of Cumberland, Kentucky; and her sister, Shelby Swoger, of Glen Allen, Virginia.
In following her wishes, there will be no services.
