Rickey Thornsberry

Rickey Thornsberry, age 52, of Gordon, Kentucky, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.  
 

He was born on January 1st, 1971, to the late Irmal Thornsberry and Doris Polly Thornsberry in Harlan, Kentucky.   Rick believed in the Baptist Faith and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors.  He had a passion for searching for ginseng and picking mushrooms with his mother.  He was a cherished son, brother, and uncle.  Rick was loved by all that knew him and will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Irmal Thornsberry, a brother-in-law, Jeff Lewis.

Rick is survived by his mother, Doris Thornsberry of Gordon, Kentucky, sister, Sue Lewis of Gordon, Kentucky, brothers, Mickey (Jennifer) Thornsberry of Gordon, Kentucky, Duney (Carla) Thornsberry of Partridge, Kentucky, nephews, Shane (Sarah) Lewis of Cumberland, Kentucky, Conner Cress of Partridge, Kentucky, nieces, Kendra (Michael) White of Gordon, Kentucky, Savannah Thornsberry of Cumberland, Kentucky, a host of great nephews, nieces, other relatives and his companion, Connie Jenkins.

Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2023, from 5- 7 p.m. at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 12 noon at the Funeral Home with Brother Donnie Dixon officiating.

Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
 

Burial will follow in the Cornetts Branch Cemetery in Linefork, Kentucky.
