Patricia North Obituary

Patricia Birchfield North, 63 years young, answered the call of Jesus and gained her angel wings on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.  She was born on July 4, 1959, in Lynch, Kentucky to the beloved union of the late Ervin and Delois Lewis Birchfield.

Patricia, most affectionately known as “Sis or Sissy,” attended Northern Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky, where she received her bachelor’s degree.  She later became the librarian at the Rebecca Caudill Library in Cumberland, Kentucky, where she held that position for thirty-two years.   She was devoted to helping children learn to read and explore another world by getting lost in a good book.  She was an advocate for literacy, creating special events for the children at the library.  During the Covid Pandemic, she found numerous ways to keep spreading knowledge by creating a safe-way access of checking out books and movies.

Patricia was a member of the Sandhill Baptist Church and attended the Coyles Branch Baptist Church in Gordon, Kentucky.  She was so talented at playing the piano and had a voice of an Angel.   She had a strong faith-based foundation built by her love for Jesus Christ.  She enjoyed talking about the Bible and loved her church.

“Sis” was the rock of the family, always making sure everyone was taken care of and helping in any way possible.  She prided herself on being a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend.   She enjoyed gatherings with loved ones, whether a four-wheeling trip in the mountains, a beach vacation, or a backyard barbecue, if they were together, that’s all she wanted.  She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.

We will miss her earthly presence, not many people can leave a mark on this earth like Patricia did.  Her smile as vibrant as the rays of sunshine, her laughter so uplifting, her caring heart cast pure love.  She was a beautiful lady inside and out.   She will be forever missed.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 reads; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Patricia is preceded in death by her sister, Debra Birchfield, and niece, Shayna Birchfield.

Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Kristina Birchfield (William Foutch), sisters, Brenda (Tommy) Bridges, Lynn (Eugene) Johnson, brother, Jeff (Andrea) Birchfield, niece, Robin (Cody) Webb, nephews, Josh Johnson, Matt (Janelle) Johnson, special great niece, Harper Birchfield, great nephew, Gunner Webb, her work family at the Rebecca Caudill Library, a host of other relatives and friends.
