Otis Gilliam

Otis Gilliam, age 77 of Gordon, Kentucky, passed away at his home on Friday, September 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 23, 1938 at Gilley, Kentucky to the late John and Martha (Cornett) Gilliam. He served with the U.S. Army and was a retired UMWA coal miner of 31 years.

Otis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doris Whitaker Gilliam, children Greg (Connie) Whitaker of Lexington, Kentucky, Tamara (late James) Davison of Calhoun, Georgia, Mark (Michelle) Gilliam of Calhoun, Georgia, Tonya (Ken) Hoffman of Hoquiam, Washington, Chris (Lynn) Gilliam of Jenkins, Kentucky, 8 grandchildren, Justin, Charlie, Josh, Brittany, Blake, Megan, Brady, and Jordan, and 2 great grandchildren, Cole and Easton.

In addition to his parents, his daughter Terena Leigh Gilliam precedes him in death.

Otis requested no services to be held at this time. Instead of flowers a donation in his name can be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Hazard, Kentucky.
