Marie Sweatt

Marie Sweatt, age 97, formerly of Lynch, KY, entered eternal life on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Hospice of Dayton.

She was born October 29, 1918 in Williamson, WV to Nannie Mary and Milburn Warsham. She accepted Christ at an early age and became an active member of Goode Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Lynch, Kentucky where she taught Sunday School and served as a Missionary. She was also an Eastern Star, Pilgrim Rest Chapter #95.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles H. Sweatt, sons, Lindsey, Roy and Charles F. Sweatt, one brother and 5 sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Woods of Dayton, OH, son, Rev. Thomas (Linda) Sweatt of Allentown, PA, sisters, Emma Smith of Nashville, TN and Malvie Gist of Milwaukee, WI, 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Lynch, KY at 11 a.m. with Funeral Services following at 12 noon with Rev. Ronnie Hampton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
