Marcquelle Richaun Gist

Marcquelle Richaun Gist, age 46 of Lynch, Kentucky, entered eternal rest on June 12, 2023, at the Chandler UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. 

He was born on December 15, 1976, in Harlan, Kentucky.  He was a graduate of Cumberland High School and had worked as a coalminer.  He believed in the Baptist faith and attended the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.  Marcquelle enjoyed listening to music, cleaning his vehicles, spending time with his children and his granddaughter, whom he loved with all his heart.  Marcquelle had a pure spirit that was full of love, always trying to help someone whenever he could.  He always had a big warm smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he met.   His parting has left a void in our hearts, but our memories of him will carry on.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Reedius Washington, paternal grandmother, Lizzie Mae Marshall, and sister, Donnie Yates.

He leaves to mourn his passing, father, James Edward (Janie) Gist, Jr. of Kingsport, Tennessee, Mother, Joetta Ann Gist of Lexington, Kentucky, sons, Drayven (Khalei) Gist of Lynch, Kentucky, Kelin Gist and Adastan Gist both of Lexington, Kentucky, daughters, Akera “KeKe” Gist of Lexington, Kentucky, Destiny Lewis of Cumberland, Kentucky, brothers, James (Mary) Gist, III of Harlan, Kentucky, Javaude (Sarah) Gist of Lexington, Kentucky, brother-in-law, Ken Yates of Cleveland, Ohio, granddaughter, Draylee Layne Gist of Lynch, Kentucky, his special friend, Misty Saylor of Harlan, Kentucky,  a host of other family members and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 409 1st Street, Lynch, Kentucky.
