Lois Linda (Brown) Carpenter

Lois Linda Brown Carpenter, age 77 of Gilley Hollow, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at her residence with family by her side.

She was the daughter of the late Roy and Lois Wolf Brown.  She was born in Schenectady, New York on August 27, 1945.   Lois attended the Harlan Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a retired Assistant Librarian for the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College at the Cumberland Campus. She loved farming, congregating, and spending time with family.  She had an uplifting spirit that touched so many.   Her memory will last forever.

Lois is survived by her loving husband, John Carpenter of Cumberland, Kentucky, son, Jon Garrett Carpenter of Alcoa, Tennessee, daughters, Teresa Marie Philpot of London, KY, Rachel Lynn Messerman of Franklin, Ohio, brother, Roy Brown and sister, Wendy Brown, grandchildren, Suzanne Philpot, Rachel Payne, Isaac (Morgan) Messerman, Jacob Messerman, a host of other relatives and friends and her precious fur baby, Trixie.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Harlan Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 10492 US-119, Totz, Kentucky40870, beginning at 2 p.m. with Speaker Gary Jessey.
