Lester Wayne Brown Obituary

Lester Wayne Brown, age 66, of Benham, Kentucky, went to his heavenly home on December 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born at home in Sandhill, Kentucky, Lester was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was defined by his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, and his hardworking spirit as a coal miner for US Steel and Arch of Kentucky.

For 48 years, Lester shared his life with his beloved wife, Brenda (Graham) Brown, building a legacy grounded in love and faith. He was immensely proud of his family, always placing their needs and happiness above his own. He worked tirelessly to ensure his loved ones always had a roof over their heads and food to eat. A child of God who stood firm in his beliefs, Lester lived by the words his mother taught him: "I am raising my children for the Lord and not the world."

Lester will be remembered as a stubborn yet funny man with a love for peanut butter, fishing, and playfully pitting family members against each other in good-natured fun. He cherished computer deer hunting and spoke of his Farmville characters as dear friends. During lean holiday seasons, he would gather his grandchildren to read the story of Jesus' birth from the Bible, then share peppermint sticks, fruits, and nuts, the simple gifts that carried profound love. His favorite song to sing, "Thank You Lord for Your Blessings on Me," will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Roberta Shoupe Brown, and siblings Lewis Brown, Carlos Brown, Joyce Brown, and Linda McKnight.

Lester is survived by his wife, Brenda; children Michael Brown and Amanda Brown; eight grandchildren: Michael Brown Jr., Emily Brown, Ethan (Jaelyn) Miller , Hannah (Mark) Lewis , Matthew Brown, Brayden Miller, Jacob Brown, and Lucas Brown; five great-grandchildren: Luna Perez, Francisco Perez, Daniel Brown, Piper Lewis, and Mateo Brown; and siblings Virginia (Carl) Waycaster, Jack (Connie) Brown, John (Maria) Brown, David Brown, and Debra (Kenny) Wyatt.

Lester's strength, humor, and steadfast faith touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
