Leon Cress

Leon Cress, age 68, of Gordon, Kentucky departed this life on December 30, 2023, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was born on December 29, 1955, to his late parents, Lester and Jocie Cornett Cress.  He had worked many years as a mechanic, specializing in rebuilding transmissions.   Leon enjoyed fishing, watching his favorite television shows and good conversations.   He took pride in his occupation, working with his hands, being able to take something broken and transform it too anew.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma J. Cress, who passed on January 14th, 2008.

He leaves to mourn his passing, sons, Leon M. (Jaime) Cress, Jessie D.  Cress, daughters, Amy Lou Cosby, Amanda Cress, siblings, Ruby Sparkman, Jewel Cornett, Von Lewis, Cleo Cress, Morgan Cress, Virgil Cress, grandchildren, Aaron Cress, Nicholas Cress, Mark Austin Cosby, Brittany Cosby, Chasity Kesler, several great grandchildren also survive.

There will be no public service.  A private Burial will be held.
