Katie Baskin (Quarles) Carnes

Katie Baskin Carnes, age 86 of Cumberland, Kentucky, entered her Heavenly home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland, KY, surrounded by her loving family.

Katie was born on March 16, 1932, unto the union of the late Robert Lee and Gertrude Herrin Quarles in Lynch, KY.  She was a member of the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Eastern KY Social Club Tennessee Chapter, Court of Calanthes and Daughter of the Elks.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Carnes, brothers, George Ralph, Preston, Willie Joe and Robert Lee Quarles, JR, grandson, Sanford (CHAMP) Baskin, IV.

She leaves to mourn her passing, son, Sanford (Anncella) Baskin of Benham, KY, daughters, Cheryl (Ronald) Brack of Lexington, KY, Ruthie (Ray) Wilson of Benham, KY, Edna (James) Sullivan of Spring, Texas, Andrea (George, SR) Massey of Benham, KY, sister, Ruth Snow of Lynch, KY, step-children, Anthony Baskin and Milton (Marcia) Baskin all of Trotwood, OH, Gwen Baskin of Dayton, OH, a special daughter, Drena Thomas of Lynch, KY, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
