Kathryn M. Davis

Kathryn Mae Davis, 67, of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Tri Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Benham to the late Bill Vern and Marlene Francis Howard Boggs, Kathryn lived a life defined by compassion, humor, and great love for those around her.

A retired cardiac care registered nurse, Kathryn dedicated her career to caring for others with skill and a genuine heart. Her coworkers, patients and family alike remembered her for her sharp wit, her sarcasm that could brighten any room, and her ability to make even the hardest days feel lighter.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Davis; her cherished son, Joshua Luke Davis; and her sister, Karen McBride.
 

She leaves behind her sisters, Karla McDonald and Kristina (Richard) Parrott; stepson, Clifton Davis; stepdaughters, Katherine Rose and Melanie Jones; nieces Bethany, Marly, and Bridgette; nephew Ellis; and many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Family gatherings were Kathryn’s favorite place to be, laughing, cooking, and filling the room with her warm presence. She was known for her delicious casseroles, her love of hummingbirds, and her devotion to Kentucky Wildcats basketball. She enjoyed CSI, Jeopardy, murder mystery novels, and a good Sudoku puzzle.

Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. A member of the Lynch Church of God, Kathryn found peace in her relationship with the Lord and often spoke of the day she would be reunited with her son. Sixteen years later, that blessed reunion has come.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 21st at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow in the Peaceful Acres Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her son, Luke.
