Jewel Williams Bandy, age 88, formerly of Lynch, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2018, at her home in Florence, Ky. Jewel was born January 23, 1930 in Cumberland, Kentucky to the late John and Gertrude (Fortune) Williams.
Jewel was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed visiting with family and friends at the round table in her kitchen, where many fine meals were shared, stories told, and life lessons taught. She was also an excellent seamstress and always willing to help with fund raising for Lynch High School and other worthwhile activities.
Jewel was a lifetime member of the Cumberland VFW Auxiliary Post 5171 and held many different leadership positions. She loved traveling to the VFW conventions and visiting with all her old friends. Jewel never met a stranger and was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Earl D. Bandy, her brothers; Roy, J.R. and John, sisters; Willie Parrot, Creasy Franklin, Mamie Mynti, Mary Ellen Kasin, Jackie McCloud, and Gertrude Dutra.
Jewel is survived by two sons, Earl D. (Joan) Bandy, Jr.; John D. (Kay) Bandy; four grandchildren, Ryan, Brennan, Blair, and Westley; and sister, Joy Williams.
