Jessie Creech

Jessie Creech, age 91 of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Jessie was born on February 4, 1925, in Knott County, KY unto the union of her late parents, David P. and Hattie Combs Prater. She was a retired nurse for Harlan ARH and a member of the Central Baptist Church in Cumberland, KY.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Creech, son, Earl Michael Creech, granddaughter, Jessica Halcomb, brothers, Ralph and Willie Prater, sisters, Tressie Messer, Eve Short, Mary Ruth Kelsey and Wilma Slone.

She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter, Margaret (Ricky) Halcomb of Cumberland, KY, granddaughter, Kelly Halcomb of Cumberland, KY, three brothers, Paul Prater of West Liberty, KY, Walter Prater of Hazard, KY and James Prater of Paris, KY, sister, Mildred Risner of Hindman, KY.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 5, 2016, at the Central Baptist Church in Cumberland, KY from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. from the church with Rev. Roger Colinger officiating.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow in the D.L. Creech Family Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
