Janice Smith

Janice Smith, age 59, of Lynch, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born on November 21, 1955, unto the union of the late Elbert Sr, & Ardella Brassell Pollard.

Janice worked at the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a Kentucky Certified Medication Aide. She was President of the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Usher Board, President & Teacher of the Missionary Society, member of the Mt. Sinai Choir and Culinary Board.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Smitty Smith, brother Elbert Pollard, JR and sister, Ann Stephens.

Janice was a loving and devoted mother to two wonderful daughters, Britney Smith and Janessa Smith both of Louisville, Kentucky, also surviving is her brother, Daryl T. Atkinson of Lexington, Kentucky and sister, Rhonda Tatum of Atlanta, Georgia, a host of other family & friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015, at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 12 noon with Rev. Ronnie Hampton officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Jacob Creech Cemetery in Cumberland, Kentucky.
