James Franklin Poore, age 75, formerly of Lynch, Kentucky, passed suddenly from this life on June 5, 2018, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born October 29, 1942, unto the union of the late William and Beatrice Brooks Poore in Gibson Station, Virginia. James served our country in the US Navy for twenty-four years, where he retired as an E-9 Master Chief. He also worked as an electrician for Carroll Engineering in Harlan, Kentucky and believed in the Methodist faith.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Luther Allen, Theodore and Thomas Poore, sister, Judy Hammer.
James leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Ellen Lunsford Poore of Daphne, Alabama, son, James H. (Lesli) Poore, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, sister, Mossie Hughes of Tazewell, Tennessee, two grandchildren, Reese and Allyson Poore of Spanish Fort, Alabama.
Mr. Poore had spent many years in the Navy and loved the calmness the sea brought to him, so with respect to his wishes, there will be no services, he will be cremated and scattered at sea.
