Hollie McKnight, Sr.

Hollie McKnight, Sr., age 87 of Cumberland, Kentucky, entered his heavenly home on February 12th, 2025, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harlan, Kentucky.

He was born to the union of his late parents, James Irvin and Betty Estep McKnight. He is also preceded in death by wife, Janice Sue McKnight, son, Hollie McKnight, Jr., daughter, Deborah Lynn McKnight, brothers, James, LeeRoy, Melbourne McKnight, and sister, Ethel Marion.
 

Hollie appreciated life, especially outdoors. He enjoyed it and took a great deal of pride in his vegetable garden, flower garden, and a nicely mowed yard. He relished his car rides throughout the area. He was always up to watching an exciting boxing match or a competitive UK Basketball game on television. Hollie was also known for sharing his wonderful advice and life learned wisdom. He knew the most important thing was always putting God first. He savored every uplifting conversation about the Lord and delighted in every minute spent with his wonderful great granddaughter, Ava. Hollie loved his family and showed his daily admiration. His physical presence may be absent from this world, God has his soul, but we get to cherish his memories forever.

Hollie leaves his daughter, Rebecca (Frank) Orick, stepsons, Jeff (Wanda) Hubbard, Charles Hubbard, sister, Hazel Banks, granddaughter, Robin (Jeremy) Williams, step grandchildren, Tim, Anthony and Siera Hubbard, great granddaughter, Ava Williams, special niece, Donna Sparks, and special nephew, Gary Banks, a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14th, 2025, in the chapel at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon until the funeral service hour of 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Oplinger officiating.
