Herbert Lewis

Herbert Lewis, age 83 of Gordon, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 9, 1933, unto the union of the late Charlie & Mary Belle Sparkman Lewis. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a disabled coal miner for International Harvester and a believer of the one true faith. He was a Christian that believed in Jesus Christ and followed His teachings faithfully. He was a member of the Sandhill Baptist Church, where he served as Pastor until his health declined.

He was survived by his wife, Lutrella Lewis of Gordon, KY, two sons, Herbert Allen Lewis & Tommy Duane Lewis both of Gordon, KY, two daughters, Donna Sue Brown of Cumberland, KY and Sherry Diane Cornett of Gordon, KY, three brothers, Howard, Terry, and Jerry Lewis all of Gordon, KY, six sisters, Celinda Cornett & Juanita Harris both of Gordon, KY, Christina Sizemore of Anvil, KY, Eunice Browning of Delphia, KY, Betty Thompson of Indianapolis, IND and Charlene Ison of Slemp, KY, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the Sandhill Baptist Church in Cumberland, KY from 5-9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the church with Jimmy Jenkins and Tommy Lewis officiating.

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery at Gordon, Kentucky.
