Henry L. Halcomb, age 69, of Linefork, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born on December 18, 1955, to the union of his late parents, Dudley and Emma Jean Ingram Halcomb. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Herman Fields.
Henry was a lifelong resident of Linefork, Kentucky and a proud retired coal miner for Scotia and James River Coal Company. He enjoyed resting in his favorite recliner, watching Westerns, especially his favorite, Gun Smoke, going for a ride on ATVs, and an occasional fishing trip. He always considered himself an inventor, in which he created different inventions and held patents on most. He had a playful personality, and enjoyed teaching the young ones little quirky rhymes he would create. Always making people laugh and enjoying every minute in his company. He had a heart of gold, always willing to help others in need, because that is who he was, genuine and authentic.
Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Melissa Smith Halcomb of Linefork, Kentucky, sons, Brandon (Letta) Smith of Clinton, Tennessee, TJ Smith of Harriman, Tennessee, daughters, Casey (David) Cornett of Thornhill, Tennessee, Angela Halcomb of Michigan City, Indiana, sisters, Oease Lewis of Partridge, Kentucky, Mary Ann Lewis of Alabama, grandchildren, Otelia Cornett, Xzavier and Ryan Tippett, Breonna and Brandilynn Smith and Noah Osborne, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
