Harrison Gilliam, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, husband, father, grandfather and friend died Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the age of 78. He was born to the late John and Martha Cornett Gilliam on June 5, 1944, in Harlan, Kentucky.
He was a retired coal miner that enjoyed Horror and Western movies. He loved to garden and visit with his family. Harrison was one of the most appreciative people one could ever meet. He had a kind soul, loving heart and a warm smile. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help someone. He lost the love of his life, Mary Ann, on February 2, 2018, it was then that his health began to decline.
He is preceded in death, other than his loving wife and parents, sons, Ronnie Dale Halcomb, Roger Lee Halcomb, daughter, Gaynell Halcomb, brother, Otis Gilliam, grandchildren, Mary Ann Halcomb, Jessica Combs and Ernest Engle.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Robert Halcomb of Louisville, KY, daughters, Rebecca Brewer of Louisville, KY, Elaine Fee of Gulston, KY, Robin Louise Halcomb of Totz, KY, Fannie Combs of Gordon, KY, brothers, Garland Gilliam of Gordon, KY, Estill Gilliam of Cumberland, KY, sister, Margarita Gilliam Coots of Rockford, IL, special sister-in-law, Beatrice Callahan of Dione, KY, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, other relatives, friends and his precious fur baby, Pooter.
Graveside services for Mr. Gilliam will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Combs Halcomb Cemetery in Linefork, KY with John W. Carpenter officiating.
