Gracie Caudill Parsons

Gracie Caudill Parsons, age 83, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, May 24th, 2026. Born in Perry County, Kentucky, to the late Lafayette Caudill and Bertha Eldridge, Gracie lived her life with a simplicity and contentment that few ever truly find. She made a home wherever she was, and that home was always filled with love.

A devoted homemaker, Gracie, found her calling in caring for her family and her community. She attended both the Baptist and Pentecostal churches in the area throughout her life, but above all else, she was a woman of rooted faith in God, a faith that anchored her through every season of life.

Gracie had a gift for making things with her hands and a natural talent in the kitchen. She could often be found sewing or working on arts and crafts, and her cooking was legendary among those who were lucky enough to sit at her table. Her homemade Goulash became something of a family treasure, a dish everyone looked forward to and one that carried the unmistakable taste of home.

But it was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who truly held her heart. They were her greatest joy and her dearest purpose. Before her health began to decline, there was nothing Gracie loved more than taking long walks with them, slow, unhurried walks that gave her time to simply be with the ones she cherished most.

Those who knew Gracie will tell you she had a heart of pure gold. She never spoke an unkind word about another soul, not once. In a world that often moves too fast and speaks too harshly, Gracie was a gentle reminder of how a life of kindness and goodness can leave the deepest mark. She lived simply, but she lived fully, and she was grateful for every day.

Gracie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Morley Ray Parsons; her son, Jimmy Dewayne Caudill; and her siblings, Maynard Caudill, Willard Caudill, Dixie Caudill, Bethel Caudill, Juanita Maggard, Mazie Harlow, Velva Harlow, and Delta Mueller.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Regina Boggs; grandchildren, James Boggs, Joshua Boggs, and Jessica Fields; great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Martin, Jaysen, and Jacob Boggs; brothers, Lafayette Caudill, Jr., and Benton Caudill; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28th, 2026, at 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Eric Rutherford officiating.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 29th, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Maggard Cemetery in Partridge, Kentucky.
