Glenn Edward Miles

Glenn Edward Miles, age 63 of Cumberland, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was born on March 2, 1961, to the union of Claude and Madge Taylor Miles.   He was a retired coal miner for Jericho Coal Company and believed in the Baptist faith.

Glenn was a good-hearted man that had an outstanding personality and believed in helping others over himself any day.   He never met a stranger and enjoyed a good conversation.  He loved to fish, spend time with his grandchildren, shooting guns, and was a mighty good cook.  One of his favorite meals to prepare was soup beans, fried potatoes, fried green tomatoes and corn bread.   He had a passion for cooking for his family.  He also enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show and Gunsmoke.  He will forever be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Madge Taylor Miles, brothers, Lester and Bruce Miles, sister, Lisa Jenkins.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of forty-three years, Sheila Hodge Miles, sons, Chris Miles and girlfriend, Kristina Jones of Cumberland, KY, Matt Miles and girlfriend, Anna Ambs of Owensboro, KY, grandchildren, Allen and Micheal Miles, brothers, Eddie Wayne Miles of Hazard, KY, Teddy Miles of Harlan, KY, Claude Miles, Jr., of Cumberland, KY, Lonnie Miles of Barbourville, KY, sister, Theresia Foster of Putney, KY, a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m.

Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Elder Glenn Cornett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Westlawn Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.

Nephews and other family members will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are John Foster and Dr. Wheeler Conover.
