Deborah L. (Rogers) Dunson

Deborah L. Rogers Dunson, age 66, formerly of Benham, Kentucky, passed away at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, July 14, 2023.  She was born on August 8, 1956, to the union of Walter and Norma Jean Finns Rogers.  

Deborah believed in the Baptist faith and loved the Lord with all her heart.  She enjoyed crafts, gardening, sunflowers, traveling, going to the movies, and cooking.   She was working on her very own cookbook, until her health declined.   She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  They were her pride and joy!

Deborah had a personality that exuded love, warmth, and laughter.  She had a way about herself that made what seemed the worst day a little better.  She knew exactly what to say and when to say it.  She truly had a nurturing, forgiving heart.  She believed to get past the tough times, one needed to get tougher and more diligent in prayer.   If God leads you to it, He will lead you through it!  Deborah's smile could light up a room and her laugh was infectious.   She never met a stranger and loved everyone.  She leaves this world a better place than she found it, because of her loving imprint she has left behind.
 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Jean Finns Rogers, daughter, Christina Coots and sister, Wanda Rogers.

She leaves to mourn her passing, father, Walter Rogers of Cumberland, Kentucky, sons, Jack Coots, Charles Coots both of Cumberland, Kentucky, Joseph Dunson of Louisville, Kentucky, daughters, Melissa Turner of 
Cumberland, Kentucky, Joyce Miniard of Sevierville, Tennessee, Summer Dunson of Louisville, Kentucky, brothers, David Rogers of Lynch, Kentucky, Billy Rogers of Cumberland, Kentucky, sister, Janice Smith of
Morehead, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Cumberland Valley Funeral Home, services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Glenn Cornett officiating.
