Darrell Ison

Darrell Ison, age 80 of 705 School Road, Cumberland, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Hazard ARH following a long illness.
He was born on February 23, 1935, unto the union of the late Boyd & Frona Hackworth Ison in Cowan, Kentucky. He was a retired coal miner from Scotia Mining and was a self-employed business owner of The Bullet Hole Pawn Shop in Cumberland. He believed in the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Ison....
He leaves to mourn his passing, wife Shirley Deal Ison of Cumberland, Kentucky, son, Douglas Lee Ison of Cumberland, Kentucky, two daughters, Tammy Lynn Taylor of North Port, Florida, Debbie (Sam) Saylor of Wallins, Kentucky, brother, Doug (Carolyn) Ison of Tazewell, Tennessee, grandsons, Ryan Taylor of North Port, Florida and Drew Freeman of Columbus, Georgia.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 14th from 6-8 p.m. at the Chapel of Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 15th at 1 p.m. at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Jim Fields officiating.
Pallbearers will be Sam Saylor, Tommy Polson, Timmy Polson, Jeff Polson, Nicholas Thomas and Sam Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearer: Glenn Sparkman
Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, Kentucky.
Cumberland Valley Funeral Home is Entrusted with Arrangements.
