Connie Sue Whitaker

Connie Sue Mitchell Whitaker, age 66 of Delphia, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, July 13, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

She was born on June 11, 1958, unto the union of her late parents, Raymond and Polly Tripplett Mitchell.
She had worked previously as a certified nurse's assistant at Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and more recent for the Community Trust Bank in Hazard, Kentucky in the bookkeeping department.
She believed in the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, working in her flower garden, vacationing at the beach, searching for shell's and shark's teeth.  She was a devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
 

She is also preceded in death by her brother, James Mitchell and sister, Rebecca Loy.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty years, Jim Whitaker of Delphia, Kentucky, son, Michael Christopher (Suzie) Whitaker of Viper, Kentucky, daughter, Melissa (Matt) McCoy of Georgetown, Kentucky, three grandsons, Trey, Owen and Ryan Whitaker, one great grandson, Waylon Whitaker, a host of other relatives and friends.

In Honoring Connie’s wishes, no services will be held at this time and she will be laid to rest in the Whispering Pine Cemetery in Delphia, Kentucky.
