Claude “Peppy” Jackson, age 68, of Cumberland, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his residence.
He was the son of the late Johnny Alden and Nancy Leigh Blair Jackson, born on November 26, 1954, in Lynch, Kentucky. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of CNJ Mechanical, which specialized in HVAC installation and repair. “Peppy,” enjoyed fishing, knife collecting, watching his favorite television show, “NCIS,” where “Gibbs,” was his hero. He watched the old western movies as well. Anyone that knew “Peppy,” knew he loved to argue, bicker, and give a hard time to his family and friends, it was his way of showing affection and how much he cared. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He loved spending time with his family and cherished every moment with them. He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughters, Heather Polly, Holly Litteral and cousin, Todd Blair.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving, devoted wife of forty years, Sherrie Highfield Jackson, son, Crit Neal (Jessi) Jackson of Lynch, KY, daughter, Dia Layne Henery of Calhoun, Georgia, cousin, Rick Mandrell of Cumberland, KY (Floyd still loves you), grandchildren, Alicia Henry, Diamond Henry, Gavin Polly, Jadin Polly, Jacob Miller, Levi Polly, Jordison Jackson, Kyllian Jackson, Gage Smith, Caleb Couch, Felicity Litteral, William Litteral, Phoenix Litteral, Navaeh Powell and three great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, October 30, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with services starting at 7 p.m. with Elder Glenn Cornett officiating.
