Christopher Joe Sergent

Christopher Joe Sergent, age 47 of Cranks, KY, formerly of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard, KY. 

He was born on May 1, 1974, in Harlan, KY.  He believed in the Methodist faith, attended Cumberland United Methodist Church and was a self-employed carpenter.  He loved construction, making model cars, and reading.   Joe was a unique man, always on the go and had a smile for everyone.  If he could help you, he did.  He did amazing carpentry work and never believed in charging a high price, he always said, “You never know when I might need your help someday.”  Joe will be missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Hubbs, a son, Christopher Joe Sergent, JR.

He leaves to honor his memory, father, Darrel (Donna) Raleigh, wife, Elizabeth Thacker Sergent of Cranks, KY, sons, Joseph Bly (Sierra) Sergent of Lynch, KY, Kameron Darrel Ray Sergent of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joey Drayven Campbell of Hallie, KY, Jaxon Storm Sergent of Cumberland, KY, daughter, Ryan Danielle (Josh) Sergent Payne of Barbourville, KY, brothers, Michael Ray (Vallrie) Sergent of Nicholasville, KY, Jesse Ryan Sergent of Harlan, KY, half-sisters, Tonya (Chris) Conner of Knoxville, Tennessee, Crystal (Jerry) Blair of Louisville, KY, seven grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 5th, beginning at 2 pm with services starting at 4 pm at the Cumberland United Methodist Church with Bro. Doug Robinson officiating.
