Christopher Edward Alan Cress, age 28, of Cumberland, KY, departed this life on May 26, 2020, following a tragic motor vehicle accident. He is the son of Denver “Eddie” and Linda Gail Fouts Cress. He was born on
September 20, 1991, in Harlan, KY. He believed in the Baptist faith and was employed by U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Chris loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved to fish, go camping and anything outdoors. He loved to dance. He loved to travel. Chris always said, “Live every day, like it’s your last!” Plainly stated, Chris loved life! Most would describe him as the glue that kept the family together in difficult times. He was known to step forward when something needed to be done. Chris will be greatly missed on this earth, but he is now at peace with his brother, Patrick.
Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents, Patrick Fouts, JR, Denver and Irene Cress, brother, Patrick Cress.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Denver “Eddie” and Linda Gail Cress of Cumberland, KY, grandmother, Linda Fouts of Cumberland, KY, brother, Brian A. Cress of Cumberland, KY and best friend, Seth “Reflex” Murphy of Dayhoit, KY, his dog, Xavier and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2020, at 11 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 1 P.M. at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fouts Family Cemetery on Little Shepherd Trail.
Those attending are asked to maintain social distancing and follow instructions posted at the funeral home to comply with state guidelines.
