Carlos Brown, age 82, of Cumberland, KY, entered his Heavenly home on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born unto the union of the late Anderson and Mae Brown in Cumberland, KY. He was a faithful Christian and member of the Blair Pentecostal Church. He was a disabled coal miner for Arch of Kentucky.
Mr. Brown was known for sitting out in town, because he loved to talk to people and share his wisdom and love of the Lord. Our community has suffered a loss with his passing. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Herbert (Lucille) Brown, Jack (Pauline) Brown, Willis (Roberta) Brown, Ralph Brown, Elmer (Lucille) Brown, and Walter (Norma) Brown, sisters, Nerva (John) Cole, Lucille (Viron) Boggs, Mother and Father-in-Law, Leonard and Mae Maggard, sister-in-law, Ethel Maggard.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 59 years, Sharlene Maggard Brown, daughters, Becky Brown, Anna Bowling, Rachel Brown, granddaughters, Lindsay Brown and Aimee Bowling, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Rod Raleigh officiating.
Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
Pallbearers will be Eric Huff, Aaron Smith, Wesley Brock, Eddie Davidson, Dylan Brown, Caleb Johnson.
Due to Covid-19, the family has asked that anyone attending, please wear a mask.
