Burton Thomas Calhoun, age 96, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harlan, Kentucky.
He was born on February 6th, 1927, unto the union of Charles and Dicie Newsome Calhoun in Virgie, Kentucky.
He was a retired welder for Manning Coal Company in Jenkins, Kentucky and believed in the Old Regular Baptist Faith. He was a World War II Veteran, having served his country in the United States Army Air Force.
Burton took pride in his occupation as a welder and metal fabricator and was known for keeping a clean vehicle. He enjoyed fishing and cheering on his beloved Kentucky Wildcat Basketball Team.
He was loved dearly and will be missed by his family and friends.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Laura Walters and Nell Riley.
He leaves to mourn his passing, sons, Phillip and Kim Calhoun of Lynch, Kentucky, Charles Calhoun of Fort Pierce, Florida, daughter, Charlotte Stewart of Fort Pierce, Florida, sister, Alice Davis of Fort Pierce, Florida,
special niece, Benita Riley of Lexington, Kentucky, his good friend, Virgil Long of Harlan, Kentucky, a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
In respect for the wishes of Mr. Burton T. Calhoun, there will be no public services.
Interment will be in the Newsome Cemetery at Pikeville, Kentucky.
