Buford Ealy, age 74, of London, Kentucky, formerly of Cumberland, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky. He was born on December 23, 1947, unto the union of his late parents, Harmon and Tallie Johnson Ealy.
Buford was a retired coal miner for Arch of Kentucky, having worked at U.S. Steel and Blue Diamond Mining for a combined total of thirty-two years in the coal industry. He served his country proud in the United States Army, where he received the Purple Heart Medal of Valor, while serving in the Vietnam War. He was of the Pentecostal faith, an avid UK Basketball fan and enjoyed a good game of golf with special friends, George Hartford, David Hartford, Sam Thomas and all his buddies at the Lynch Country Club.
Buford especially loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of fifty-two years, Wilma Jean Boggs Ealy, daughters, Tammy (Jamie) Napier of New Tazewell, Tennessee, Mary Ann (Bill) Depew and Ashley (Ethan) Back all of London, Kentucky, grandchildren, Kayla, Whitney, Tyler, Luke, Gage, Landon, Caden, Emberlyn, great grandchildren, Braylee, Ryker, Eli, a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 8. 2022, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother Billy Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram, Kentucky.
Military rites will be provided by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers
Honorary pallbearers will be his golfing buddies from the Lynch Country Club.
