Bennie Ellis Smith

Bennie Ellis Smith, age 69 of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, August 23, 2024, at his residence.  He was the son of the late McKinley and Irene Shepherd Smith.  He was born in Lynch, Kentucky on September 29, 1954.

He had worked as a truck driver in the coal industry and long-haul delivery.  He also had several security night jobs.   Bennie believed in the Baptist faith and enjoyed trail riding, camping, barbecues and anything outdoors. 

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kandy Smith, brothers, Daniel and Ricky Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Sheena Colet Sokolowski Smith, sons, McKinley Smith, Walter Smith and Randy Smith, brother, Willis (Roberta) Smith, sister, Helen Dixon, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27th from 12 noon to 1 pm in the chapel of Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.

Inurnment will be private.
