Allie “Molly” Fields, 78, Cumberland, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by loving family members.
A life-long resident of the area, Molly was a member of the Gilliam Chapel Baptist Church.
A homemaker, Molly could whip up a meal of biscuits and gravy that would make anyone envy. When she wasn’t watching her favorite television show Gunsmoke, she most likely could be found sitting on her front porch taking in the mountain scenery that surrounded her.
Born in Cumberland to the late Henry and Dora Eldridge Coots, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Fields. Her sisters, Vera Mock and Mary Dixon; brothers, Johnny, Virgil, Jackie and Venon Coots, sister-in-law Shelby Coots; and a grandson David Davis also preceded her.
Surviving her are sons Billy Joe Fields (Tracy), Totz; and James Clayton Fields (Donna), Cumberland; daughters Patricia Halcomb (Jake), Cumberland; and Jacqueline Hammons (Troy), Berea; brothers Boyd Coots, Cumberland; and Jordan Coots (Georgia), Dione; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, October 31 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Jonathan Monhollen, all from the Gilliam Chapel Baptist Church, 2415 Clutts Road, Cumberland, KY.
Interment will be at the Huff Cemetery, Cumberland, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
